Privacy Policy

SegConnect Segment Integration "the App" provides connection to a Segment source "the Service" to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account: customer cart actions, checkout steps and order details. Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App: Information about individuals who visit your store, such as their email address, shipping address, order details and information about the cookies installed on the particular device. This data is sent directly on to Segment and not stored in our database, except for Cart details which are temporarily stored in our database for 30 days in order to determine whether a product has been added or removed from a given cart.

All data is transmitted securely using HTTPS and TLS encryption. All data that is persisted is encrypted at rest under the 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard and is only accessible by the founding team of SegConnect Segment Integration.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for details regarding the information we have about you and the way we handle it. Additionally, you have the right to have this information corrected or deleted.

If you are a European resident, please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe to our secure servers in Canada and the United States.

Data Retention

When we store cart data, we will persist it for a maximum of 30 days, unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
